6-Week Group Class (Informational focus)
During this six week course, we teach participants basic brain functioning, how the brain changes and how to achieve optimal performance in a highly interactive setting. Participants learn various strategies to improve memory and attention as well as proper nutrition, physical activity and stress reduction. At the beginning and end of each six week session, participants will complete a brief screening that includes both subjective and objective measures of their current level of functioning. Over the duration of the course, participants will receive handouts that include information discussed in class and additional resources. We adjust the class for various levels of functioning and participants will find it, interactive and educational.
Weekly Group Games (Socialization Focus)
This ongoing program provides participants a chance to socialize and stimulate minds through various games, puzzles and physical activities. Additional resources for optimal cognitive functioning will be provided, however this class has less of an educational focus.
Computerized Cognitive Training (Individual Focus)
CogniFit stands out as our premier computerized cognitive training program with training individually tailored based on results of a baseline assessment and subsequent progress assessments. Participants complete 20 minute training sessions every other day or as their schedule permits at home or any computer with internet access. We provide follow-up support and coaching monitoring participants performance. The initial program offers a full year of personal training. Minimal computer skills are helpful, but not necessary. This program can supplement other group structured classes for increased cognitive stimulation specific to each individual’s needs.
